Welcome to Peabody Home

The Peabody Home Mission Statement:

It is the mission of Peabody Home to satisfy the needs and desires of the residents and their families by providing personal and professional care in a loving home atmosphere.
In researching long-term care facilities, most everyone is concerned about finding just the right place. Naturally, most people would like to find a place that will provide quality care for a reasonable price.

     Peabody Home is just that.

We are an independent, not-for-profit home whose origins began with a dream and a trust as you can read about in our brief history that follows.

Peabody Home is a private pay home governed by a group of caring local volunteers who form our Corporation Membership and Trustees. Meetings are held regularly to assure that we continually do what we can to provide quality care to all elders that live here. Our staff, in all departments, truly take an interest in the care of our Residents and, because of our small size, our Residents and our Staff really get to know each other like family.

Another significant difference that sets Peabody Home apart from other facilities is that we do not participate in the Medicaid System. The Medicaid System is a federal welfare program that pays nursing homes a room and board fee for those Residents who have exhausted their own resources. Generally, the public does not realize that this reimbursement does not even come close to covering the costs of providing care to the Resident. As a result, to cover the gap, the private-pay Resident living at a Medicaid facility, is charged more than their actual care costs to help pay for their neighbor's care.

This does not happen at Peabody Home. Our Board of Trustees has made a commitment to offer quality care in a home-like environment at the lowest price feasible.

Peabody Home is truly a Home not a "facility." We encourage family and friends of our Residents to be an active part of home life at Peabody Home. You can feel free to drop in anytime, participate in activities, have a cup of coffee, come for lunch; whatever is going on you are always welcome to participate and communicate your ideas as to how we can make Peabody Home an even better place!
